AmeriCold Announces Expansion of Albertville, Alabama Facility

AmeriCold is expanding its Albertville, Alabama facility to accommodate the increased space demands of customers in the Southeast. The $12 million dollar, 93,420 square-foot expansion will add an additional 12,000 pallets of storage space and will more than double the size of the facility, creating 4.9 million cubic feet of total capacity.

Capital improvements on the Albertville facility will include construction of 2.9 million cubic feet of refrigerated space, the installation of 7 blast cells, material handling equipment, and storage racks and pallets. The expansion will accommodate 275 million pounds of product annually, including 110 million pounds of blast freezer throughput.

"Alabama is a strategic market for AmeriCold. Due to the area's high concentration of poultry producers, among others, there is strong demand for temperature-controlled warehouse space. We are confident this facility expansion will continue to meet the needs of existing and new customers," said Neal Rider, President and Chief Operating Officer, AmeriCold.
